Virtual 4 Mile Sleigh Bell Run
The 2021 Winter Carnival Sleigh Bell Run is being held virtually due to COVID-19. Help us make every mile count! You can safely complete the Sleigh Bell Run on your own schedule and on either the traditional course route or a 4-mile course of your choice. The cost to participate is $25. Here’s how it works:
  Register to run/walk virtually by February 4th
  Choose your route: The official course (Download Map) or your own 4 mile route.
  Complete your run or walk anytime during Winter Carnival Weekend: February 5th-7th, 2021.
  Upload your time by 8:00pm on Sunday, February 7th.
  All participants are encouraged to post photos and videos of their run on RunReg and the Greenfield Winter Carnival Facebook Event Page.
  Check out the results which will be posted on our website the week after.
  The first 25 participants will receive a Winter Carnival T-Shirt.

Paper Snowflake Contest
We are looking for that one paper snowflake that stands out above all the others! It can be big...or small...plain…or bedazzled! Entries must be dropped off at the Greenfield Recreation Department by Wednesday, February 3rd. Be sure your snowflake includes your name, age, and phone number on the back! Winners will be chosen in multiple age groups. One snowflake per person.

K9 Keg Pull Shape Keeping in Keg Pull Shape Photo Contest
We may be putting a “paws” on the keg pull this year, but we want to see how your K-9 is keeping in shape for the festival favorite. Submit your K-9 Keg Pull training photos to Greenfield Recreation’s Facebook Photo Contest by Wednesday, February 3rd. All photos must be from 2021. VOTE HERE for Keg Pull >>

Find the Golden Carrot
Uh oh! It looks like our Winter Carnival Snowman has lost his nose! We challenge you to find one of the 10 golden carrots in this city-wide scavenger hunt. Will you be able to sniff out their hiding places and restore the snowman’s sense of smell? Once you find a carrot, take a picture with the noseless snowman located outside the Recreation Department building, post the photo to the Facebook event, and leave the carrot along with a paper that includes your name, age, and telephone number in the dropbox. HINT– They are all hidden within City Parks because snowmen love to play!

Sleds Virtual Cardboard Sled Design Contest
This year there may be no need for cardboard sled speed, but we will still be giving away awards based on design! Your creativity is limitless! Just about anything goes!! To enter, submit a picture of your 2021 sled to our Facebook Contest by midnight on Wednesday, February 3rd. The SLED BUILDING RULES are as follows:
  1. Sled MUST be made of cardboard. Papier-mâché, tape, glue, and paint are also permitted.
  2. Sleds may not have plastic wrap, wood or other bottom surface material, or runners (unless cardboard). Tape is ok.
  3. Parents may help children build their sleds.
  4. One Entry per person

Sleds Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

  Zaniest
  Most Realistic
  Fastest Looking
  People’s Choice

Ice Carving Downtown Ice Carvings
Artists will be sculpting ice throughout the day in front of our downtown sponsoring businesses. Check out the Ice Walk Map for the locations. While viewing, be sure to wear your masks and maintain proper social distancing. Vote for your favorite on the Greenfield Recreation Department’s Ice Carving Facebook Contest by Sunday, February 7th. Winners will be announced Monday.

Virtual Jigsaw Puzzle Contest - 10:30 AM
Assemble your team to compete for the first ever Winter Carnival Piece Prize! We know many of you have certainly practiced your puzzling skills during the pandemic. This virtual puzzle contest will put those skills to the test as teams of up to 4 (all from the same household/pod) compete to complete a 550 piece puzzle the quickest, all from the comfort of your home via Zoom. Team pre-registration required. Registration fee is $20 and team gets to keep the puzzle. See complete details below:

“Warm Hugs” Craft Kit - 2:00 PM
Pick up a craft kit (contactless) at the Recreation Department February 1st-5th from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm for all the materials you need to create a “warm hug” winter themed craft. A step by step instruction video will be posted on the Winter Carnival Facebook Page. Once your warm hug is complete, you can easily mail it to someone you miss and love to give them a one of a kind socially distanced hug!

Adams Donuts has generously partnered with the Greenfield Recreation Department to help raise some dough for Winter Carnival! Pre-order your special Half-Dozen Winter Carnival Fancies for $12.49 beginning Monday, February 1st on the Adams Donuts Website: https://www.adamsdonuts.com/order-online. Quantities are limited, so pre-order early. Olaf will be at Adams Donuts on Sunday, February 7th from 8:00 am - 10:00 am for Winter Carnival order pick-ups with Olaf delivering the donuts right to your vehicle! Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, Olaf will not be available for group photos.
