An After School Drop In Enrichment Experience for Greenfield Middle School Students

Mission:

The Rec Room's mission is to provide middle school youth with a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and supervised environment to socialize, study, recreate, and explore new hobbies and interests. The Rec Room will foster the development of important life skills such as leadership, community involvement, self-confidence, communication, and problem solving to empower youth and help them realize their full potential.

20 Sanderson Street, 1st Floor

Hours of Operation:

The Rec Room will be open throughout the School Year Monday- Friday 2:15 pm - 5:30 pm Scheduled Early Release Days 11:15 am - 5:30 pm The Rec Room will not operate on Professional Development, Holiday, and Vacation Days.

Drop-In Format:

Participation in all Rec Room programs is on a drop-in, voluntary basis. Participants have unlimited in-out privileges. The program is not responsible for the care or supervision of members once they have left the Rec Room or once the Rec Room is closed. Please arrange with your child as to when it is appropriate to leave the facility and with whom.

Program Capacity:

The program is limited to 30 members at a time on a first come, first served basis. Once capacity is reached, additional students will not be allowed to enter.

Membership:

A membership to the Rec Room provides unlimited drop in use during open hours. Members are also eligible to participate in special events, trips, and activities (which may be subject to additional limitations or fees). Memberships can be purchased by season or for the complete School Year. Refunds will not be issued after the program has begun. Each student will receive a membership card that they must use to enter and exit the facility.

2025 Summer Camp Workshops

The age range for each workshop is grades 5-7.

Wednesday, July 9th, 9:00 - 11:00 am
Northfield Mountain

Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure filled with hiking, wildlife, and sustainability! This workshop will take kids on an exciting hike through beautiful Northfield Mountain, where they’ll discover local wildlife and learn how to protect nature. Through hands-on activities, young explorers will gain a deeper understanding of the environment, from eco-friendly practices to identifying plants and animals. This workshop is all about connecting with nature, fostering a love for wildlife, and inspiring future environmental champions! Don’t forget to wear comfy shoes!

Just Roots

Get ready for a hands-on farm adventure this summer! Join us at Just Roots for an exciting workshop where kids will experience the full farm-to-table journey. From weeding and planting seeds to harvesting fresh veggies and cooking something delicious, campers will learn the magic of growing food and the joy of eating what they've made! Don’t miss out on this farm-fresh experience! Wear clothes you can get dirty!

Happy Tails

Calling all young dog lovers! Join us at Happy Tails for a paws-itively awesome summer workshop where you'll learn how to understand and communicate with dogs through their body language and behavior. Through fun games, hands-on activities, and real-life dog interactions, kids will discover how to read a dog’s signals—like wagging tails, floppy ears, and playful paws! This workshop will teach important safety tips, empathy, and how to build a great relationship with dogs in a friendly, exciting way. Don't miss out on this tail-wagging adventure!
