Community Preservation Projects
In 2020, Greenfield citizens voted to adopt the Community Preservation Act. The act allows Greenfield to collect a property tax surcharge of 1%, the revenues from which are matched by state funds. The funds are reserved for projects and initiatives in the areas of community housing, historic preservation, open space conservation, and outdoor recreation. Applications are submitted and reviewed yearly by the Community Preservation Committee.More information about the committee and the Community Preservation Act can be found here: https://greenfield-ma.gov/government/boards_and_commissions/community_preservation_committee.php >>
