Green River Swimming Area Hours and Fees
The Green River Swim Area is permitted through the Department of Public Health and complies with all regulations outlined in 105 CMR 445.00: State sanitary code chapter VII: Minimum standards for bathing beaches. Bacteriological quality testing is conducted weekly. Swimming shall not be permitted when the quality of the water does not meet the standards established and no swimming shall be allowed when the water is determined by the Board of Health or the Department to be unfit or subject to contamination.

Beach Wheelchair Available for Public Use: Thanks to fundraising by our Buddy Baseball program, a handicapped accessible Mobi Beach Chair is available for use by the public. Please inquire with Swim Area Staff for availability.

Season Passes:
Season passes are available for purchase at the Recreation Department Office or at the Green River Swim Area during operating hours. Season pass types include Resident and Non-Resident Family, Individual, and Senior (55+). For the purpose of purchasing a Family Swim Area Pass, only two adults and their children under the age of 19, all residing at the same address can be listed on a family swim pass. For the purchase of a swim pass, an adult is defined as a person 19 years of age or older.
How to Purchase/ Renew a Swim Pass:
To purchase or renew a Season Pass, patrons must complete a registration form. Forms can be mailed in or dropped off to the Recreation Department or completed at the Swim Area Park Entrance Gate. Pass renewals can also be purchased online. Forms must be completed in their entirety with full payment in order to be accepted. For family passes, all individual family members must be listed in the registration lines. After a maximum of one week processing time, passes will be available for pick-up at the Swim Area front gate. It is the responsibility of the pass holder to pick up their season pass. For family passes, a pass card is issued for each individual family member. Patrons must bring their cards each time they visit the park. All passes are permanent cards that can be renewed annually. There is a $5.00 replacement fee for each card that must be reprinted.

Swim Area Daily Rates:
Resident and Non-Resident daily per person rates are charged for all customers who do not have a Swim Area Pass. Gate Attendants reserve the right to ask for proof of residency. Daily rates can be paid with cash, credit card, or check with ID at the gate.

Season Pass Refund Policy:
No credits or refunds for Swim Area Season Passes will be issued after May 31st. No credits or refunds will be issued for unused pass(es). No credits or refunds will be issued for park closure due to inclement weather, water quality testing, maintenance, city ordinance, events, or other closures.
Weather Closure Policy/ Daily Admission Refund Policy:
To ensure the safety and security of park patrons, in the event of inclement weather that requires the evacuation of the river, all guests will be required to gather their belongings and either leave the facility or wait in an approved area (vehicle or park restrooms). The river will reopen 30 minutes after the last lightning/thunder if it has been deemed safe. There are no refunds to daily admissions for inclement weather, but rain checks will be available with the gate attendant for paid admissions lasting less than 2 hours.
